Tipsy Paradise Casa: A Unique Blend of Luxury and Functionality

Chiawen Chen's Award-Winning Villa Design Marries Party Space and Wine Cellar

The design's inspiration stems from the homeowner's love for hosting parties and maintaining an impressive wine cellar. The villa's central feature is a ring-type cabinet, which serves as the heart of the home. This innovative design choice allows the homeowner to appreciate their wine collection from various angles, adding a unique charm to the villa.

One of the villa's unique properties is its ability to cater to different forms of reception areas simultaneously. Each reception area is strategically placed adjacent to the wine cabinets, enhancing the overall hosting experience. The central location of the cabinet booth, encircled by alcoholic drinks, adds to the immersive experience of the villa.

The realization of this design was made possible through the use of solid wood, metal plate, and ceramic board. The villa, spanning 1400 square metres, is located in Changzhou, China. The design process, which began in May 2019, was led by Design Director Chen Chia Wen and Design Assistant Hu Feihu.

Despite the challenges posed by the ring-type cellar's limited headspace and multiple beams, the design team managed to create an aesthetically pleasing and functional space. The application of an arc-shaped outer ring and curved stainless steel reflective surface helped reduce the pressure imposed by the low ceiling, enhancing the overall spatial experience.
